Auschwitz - Birkenau (Krakow trip)

Auschwitz - Birkenau
It was the biggest concentration camp i have seen in my life! Imagine they had 3 camps there, Auschwitz 1, 2 and 3 (which is just a factory to process the hair and all of the Jews and produce other Nazi items) . However, U might wonder why i have swayed off my usual style of the 1 pic 1 caption. Ok, truth is , there is too much depression information which i think is better to omit and also there is a too many pics to upload :P. Anyway, the thing one should appreciate is that this place, Auschwitz, is actually quite a beautiful place and one can even think about living here if not for the history and bloodshed that has plagued this scenic place now.
The famous words "Arbeit Macht Frei" is clearly seen here. It ironically means "work brings freedom" ??!!! Auschwitz 1 was the headquarters, which is also where u will see the sign. However, the famous camp was in fact Birkenau (A.k.a Auschwitz 2). It was so huge there is a railway running from north to south of the camp, thus the name "death railway". The living conditions in Auschwitz 1 was horrible and in Birkenau, it was beyond words and comprehension! it was so bad that the average lifespan of a prisoner was about 2-3 months only! people only had 2-3 mins per day, 2 times a day to so their "business" daily, in the place where toilets are simply holes on concrete (seen in the pic) and no one clears them regularly. Also, many people suffered from starvation diarrhea, which makes them shit on their beds as well. Thus, this camp was also called "death camps" beacuse people just came here and almost never make it out alive. They have 4 fumigation chambers which were destroyed when the Nazis left the place in 1945. the ruins can be still seen (in the pics). It was truly a depressing sight hearing the guide explain how the Nazi tortured and killed the Jews and other prisoners in ways that are totally inhumane! Hope that reading this is a msg to any neo-nazi out there... WAKE UP UR FUCKING IDEA! Nazism is not cool and certainly not genocide of any scale!
